This astonishing picture is a portrait of the fashion designer Bella Freud, the artist’s daughter with the designer Bernardine Coverley, born in 1961. We sourced it from a private collection in 2008, at the request of one of our clients who had been unsuccessful in bidding on the artist's 1995 work Benefits Supervisor Sleeping at Sotheby's earlier in the year.
